on fridays - I'll post here if that changes.

2008 August 13 - Film Fest

Last friday I boom mic'd / mixed sound for a short film called "The Perfect Date".
It was for the 2008 Chicago Film Race - what they did was announce a subject for a film
at 10pm last friday (the 8th), and we had to have an original short written, shot,
and edited by 10pm saturday night. The theme of the film had to be "Perfection",
it had to include a hammer, and it had to be 3.5 minutes long. I think it came out
really well.
It screens 9pm Wednesday, August 13th, at Landmark's Century Center Cinema,
2828 N Clark at Diversey. Tickets are first come, first serve, and our film
will be shown as part of a two hour block of other entries.

2008 August 02 - Outdoor gig w/ 707 Band

I ran sound for "707 Band"
at a block party in Bloomingdale. They're a 5 piece that do 50's-90's rock covers.
It was a cool setup - 7 drum mics (2 overheads, 2 toms, hat, snare, kick), 2 keyboards,
3 vocal mics, 2 electric guitars, and an electric bass; 15 channels in all.
I used my Matrix 2000 for the PA, and the band's JBL power15's for stage
monitors. The whole thing went well and sounded great.
